SPHEROIDAL GRAPHITE (DUCTILE) IRON ROLLS

 

Spheroidal graphite rolls are  structurally characterised by nodular graphites as against flake graphites in normal cast iron rolls.The presence of Nodular/Spheroidal form of graphite eliminates the notch sensivity of Cast Iron. S.G.Iron rolls  are far superior to conventional Steel/Cast Iron Rolls due to the unique combination of superior strength, good resistance to wear, spalling and fire cracking.

INDEFINITE CHILL ROLLS

The matrix structure varies from fine Pearlite to bainite depending  on the alloy addition.  The graphite in structure is highly resistance to spalling and fire Cracking.

The structure consists of Cementite uniformly distributed in a matrix of Pearlite/Bainite depending on the alloy content.  The  chilled layer is backed by a Mottled Zone and Grey Iron Core.

Rolls for Rubber, Paper, Dyes & Pigments, Plastic and Food Processing Units are made of Clear Chill/Alloy Clear Chill Iron.  The Chilled Layer Consists of Fine Pearlite / Bainite Matrix with uniform distribution of Cementite backed by a condensed mottle zone with soft graphite rice inner layer, imparts good thermal conductivity.
